The Great Wildebeest Migration in Kenya and Tanzania is one of nature's most spectacular events. Each year, over 1.5 million wildebeest, accompanied by hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, embark on a circular journey of approximately 1,800 miles in search of fresh grazing and water.

January-March: Calving season in Southern Serengeti. Over 500,000 calves are born within 2-3 weeks.
April-May: The herds move northwest toward the Grumeti River.
June-July: River crossings at Grumeti with dramatic crocodile encounters.
August-September: The famous Mara River crossings into Kenya's Maasai Mara.
October-November: Herds graze in Mara before heading back south.
December: Return to Southern Serengeti for the cycle to begin again.
